Sealake, also called as Nueng or T’nung lake by the local people is a fresh water lake located 7km to the Northwest of Pleiku city in the Highlands of Vietnam. It is at the altitude of 800 meters and highly protected to preserve the environment as it is the source of fresh water for the entire Pleiku city.
The sealake is a large area of nearly 300ha divided into 2 smaller interconnecting lakes located inside a mountainous area. The lake possesses jade water and a strip of land running out to the middle of it that help visitors to catch the entire scenery into their eyes.
The path to the lake is a picturesque curve with countless of shiny green pineapple trees on 2 sides. At the end of the path there lays stone stairs leading to a platform where visitors could catch the entire view of the place.
The sealake looks stunning all year long, and its beauty varies each season of the year. In the dry season, the water goes down revealing the fertile basalt soild where many precious pieces of birds come to seek for food. In the rain season, the water goes down creating strong waves beating the banks as if they came from the ocean.
However, if you wish to enjoy the most beautiful moment of the place, come in the spring around the Tet time. The weather is lightly cold, the water is quiet and clear, surrounding trees and flowers grow and bloom, the whole picture is as stunning as a fairy land with the floating fog.
When sun sets, the last sun beams go through pineapple foliage creating a poetic and romantic scene that you will never forget once admire it.
The sea lake is the work of art by nature created millions of years ago after the volcano felt into sleep and never wakes up, until today, the untouched and romantic natural scenery of it is still there. Together with the cool weather all year long, the place deserve to be one of the must-visit destination in the Central Highland of Vietnam. I dare not to look at your eyes, the eyes look like the water of the Sealake.
